<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the content of hexavalent chromium contained in used refractory and to provide a raw material capable of being reused. <P>SOLUTION: The raw material capable of being reused is produced by pulverizing used refractory containing chromium, then sizing the obtained pulverized material, adding a metal or metal alkoxide powder to the sized material in an amount of 0.1 to 5 wt.%, forming the resulting material and firing the formed body at a temperature of ≥1,150°C once or more so as to reduce the amount of hexavalent chromium contained in the formed body. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
