PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low frictional sliding material which exhibits extremely excellent low frictional characteristics and furthermore can exhibit a fuel consumption-saving effect far superior to the combination of the conventional steel stock with an organic Mo compound, and a lubricating oil composition to be used therefor. SOLUTION: The low frictional sliding material uses a lubricating oil composition containing a fatty acid ester based ashless friction modifier and/or an aliphatic amine based ashless friction modifier for a diamond-like carbon (DLC) member, an iron base member, and their sliding surfaces. The lubricating oil composition is used for the above low frictional material, and contains a fatty acid ester based ashless friction modifier and/or an aliphatic amine based ashless friction modifier.
