PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photosetting liquid developer with a high process speed and excellent image quality for electrophotographic or electrostatic recording such as for a copying machine, printer, facsimile or the like, the developer having an advantage of forming a high quality image because of a small particle size of the toner. SOLUTION: The photosetting liquid developer comprises at least an insulating organic solvent, toner particles and a charge controlling agent. The toner particles comprise a coloring agent coated with a binder resin having a photoreactive functional group.
