VERTICAL SHELL AND TUBE TYPE HEAT EXCHANGER, AND DISTILLATION TOWER SYSTEM HAVING THE HEAT EXCHANGER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical shell and tube type heat exchanger continuously operable over a long period by preventing the clogging thereof with polymers. SOLUTION: This vertical shell and tube type heat exchanger 1 exchanges heat by leading process fluid containing easily polymerizable substances into heat transfer tubes 28. The vertical shell and tube heat exchanger 1 comprises: a vertically extending shell 2; an upper tube sheet 8 and a lower tube sheet 10 installed on the upper part 4 and the lower part 6 of the shell 2; and a plurality of heat transfer tubes 28 having both end part outer peripheries 26 fixed to these upper and lower tube sheets 8 and 10. The upper surface 34 of the upper tube sheet 8 is formed aslant, and at least one of the heat transfer tubes 28 is disposed on the upper surface 34 of the upper tube sheet 8 near the lowest position.
