<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which greatly improves copying efficiency without stopping an operation even when tab paper runs out during printing in slip sheet mode. <P>SOLUTION: After the completion of output in step S803, a CPU201 detects the absence of tab paper with timing that tab paper 501-C is to be output. Consequently, the output of tab paper is cancelled. At the start of output of a bunch of paper 501-2 thereafter, paper is not fed from a normal 'paper cassette 1' but a 'paper cassette 2' (step S804). The paper setting direction A4R of the 'paper cassette 2' is different from the paper setting direction A4 of the 'paper cassette 1'. Therefore, by rotating an output image so that the output image matches the paper setting direction, the direction of the image is made to match the paper. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
