<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize determination of a print process furthermore by not judging the print process of a monochromatic page simply based on the fact whether a page to be printed is monochromatic or full color, but determining the print process based on presence/absence of immediately preceding page and following page and the attributes thereof. <P>SOLUTION: In the printer and its printing method having a full color print process and a monochromatic print process, a decision is made whether a print object page is color or monochromatic (S501), a decision is made whether an immediately preceding page of continuous printing is present (S503) for a monochromatic print object page, attributes of the immediately preceding page are judged (S504), and then presence of a following page of continuous printing and the attributes of the following page are judged for the print object page (S509, S510, S513). A number of pages corresponding to the judgments is set (S506, S507, S509), and a print process is determined for the print object page based on the presence and attributes of a following page corresponding to the number of pages (S511, S512, S514). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
