摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain the relation between a steering amount of a steering wheel and a steered amount of a steered wheel even if inverse input from the steered wheel side or abnormality of the motor occurs, without providing the direct coupling means requiring a detection means and a control means in a transmission ratio variable mechanism. SOLUTION: An inverse input interception device 180 consists of a stationary member 181, a driving shaft 182, an intermediate member 183, a driven shaft 184, thrust cams (cam means) 182b, 183b and clutch teeth (clutch means) 181a, 183a. With using the inverse input interception device 180, the rotation output from a rotary shaft 164 of the motor is always transmitted to the lower steering shaft (output shaft) 4 and the rotation input to the rotary shaft 164 of the motor from the lower steering shaft 4 is always intercepted.
