PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect the drastic divergence of focus in a phase difference detecting system AF using the output of an imaging device. SOLUTION: A camera 2 is provided with an image pickup means 4 equipped with at least one pair of photoelectric conversion parts arranged on one microlens arranged at every pixel, and for picking up an optical image formed by a photographing optical system by the photoelectric conversion, and a focus detecting means 15 for detecting the focusing state of the photographing optical system based on respective output values of the photoelectric conversion parts by which two images formed by light beams passing through different areas on the pupil surface of the photographing optical system are photoelectrically converted. The photographic lens device is provided with a storing means 12 for storing correction information to correct the light distribution difference between the two images in the case of detecting the focusing state of the photographing optical system. The focusing state of the photographing optical system is detected by the focus detecting means based on the output value of the photoelectric conversion part and the correction information in the storing means transmitted from the photographic lens device.
