PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slot type optical fiber cable which never greatly rise in manufacture cost, can make a linear speed fast and have a water-proof function, and has core movement preventive measures taken. SOLUTION: The optical fiber cable comprises a slot rod 10 which has grooves 11 formed in its outer circumference, optical fiber ribbons 12 stored in the grooves 11, a beltlike body 14 which has an elastic body layer 14a on one surface and is attached onto the slot head 10 while crossing the grooves 11 with the elastic body layer 14b in, a pressure ribbon 15 which is so wound outside it as to elastically press the optical fiber ribbons 12 stored in the grooves 11 by fitting a portion of the elastic body layer 14b of the beltlike body 14 in the grooves 11 of the slot rod 10, and a jacket 16 provided around them.
