PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector ferrule having a multiple-angled pedestal. SOLUTION: An optical fiber connector ferrule blank has, at its distal end, a pedestal region which has a first bevel within a carefully chosen range of angles and a second bevel which extends from the end of the first bevel at a different range of angles. The combination of the first and second bevels makes possible, a finished ferrule that can be used in a variety of different connectors while satisfying the manufacturer's requirement for pedestal diameter, angle of the second level, and the length of the combined bevels.
