PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel bearing superior in a property for attaching a protection plate and capable of preventing damage of a magnet by a foreign matter bit between a magnetic sensor and a multi-pole magnet to be a magnetic encoder. SOLUTION: This wheel bearing is composed of an inner member 1 and an outer member 2, a plurality of rolling elements 3 stored between the members, and a seal device 5 sealing an end part of an annular space between the inner and the outer member 1, 2. The seal device 5 includes a first and a second annular seal plate 11, 12 attached on different members of the inner member 1 and the outer member 2 respectively. The first seal plate 11 is fitted on a rotating member of the inner member 1 or the outer member 2. The multi- pole magnet 14 having magnetic poles formed alternately in a circumference direction is attached on the standing plate part 11b. The protection plate 11b of non-magnetic body protection plate 18 covering outer side of the multi-pole magnet 14 is tentatively fixed on a outer diameter edge of the rising plate part 11b of the first seal plate 11.
