PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeding method that can prevent multi-feeding of sheets even when contact force acts between superposed sheets, a sheet feeder that uses the sheet feeding method, and an image forming device equipped with the sheet feeder. SOLUTION: Drive is switched ON/OFF to a torque limiter 2 for applying return force to a reverse roller 1. Normal rotational torque Tr, or two values of torque limiter return force TA (=Tr×RS) and torque limiter return force of zero, now act on the reverse roller 1. The variation in torque limiter return force drives and separates a plurality of sheets in close contact. The sheet driving and separation releases the sheets or eliminates contact force Q generated.
