PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connecting tape the spliced cover tape of which can smoothly pass through a slit part of a member for releasing. SOLUTION: The connecting tape 5 connects together cover tapes 2 covering surfaces of carrier tapes when the carrier tapes for carrying electronic components are connected with each other. In this connecting tape 5, a central part 5c between a left side edge part 5a and a right side edge part 5b is made thinner than the left and right side edge parts 5a and 5b. Two cover tapes are connected with each other by sticking the connecting tape 5 being extended over two pieces of the cover tapes 2. It is possible by a constitution like this to make the spliced cover tapes smoothly pass through the slit part of the member for releasing. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
