PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal printer which can be reduced in manufacturing costs by simplifying an assembly work. SOLUTION: A frame (F) is constituted of a lower frame member (F1) and an upper frame member (F2) separable up and down. Storage parts (a storage part A and a gear storage part B) for storing a line thermal head (H), a platen roller (1), a motor (M) and a gear (G1) respectively are formed in the lower frame member. Moreover, it is so adapted that a plurality of holding parts (C1-C4 and D1-D4) for rotatably holding respective rotary shafts of the platen roller and the motor are formed at a side wall part of the lower frame member and a side wall part of the upper frame member when both frames are united.
