The automobile rear seat part (4) is pivoted at the front by two articulations (5) integral with the floor (6). Each articulation is formed by a pivoting rod (10) enabling the seat tip forward until it is in contact with the back of the front seat. A retractable anti-submarining bar (9) enabling the restraint under the thigh of the occupant is connected to each articulation. The ends of the anti-submarining bar are folded so that they are parallel to the bar and are connected to corresponding articulation clevises (11).
