<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce a light pulse signal into light pulses having a satisfactory SN ratio and having fine light pulse waveforms and having no wander and jitter. <P>SOLUTION: When input-signal light pulses are input to a light limiting amplifier 6, peak parts of the light pulses are flattened and thereafter the light pulses are input to a saturable absorbing element 11. On the other hand, light timing pulses synchronized with a master clock are output from a light timing pulse generating circuit 13 to be input to the saturable absorbing element 11 via a light timing pulse input part 16. In the element 11, when signal light pulses and light timing pulses are simultaneously made incident on the element 11, only parts whose light intensity are strong and whose SN ratio are satisfactory pass through the element 11 in synchronization with the light timing pulses. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
