<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid inflator exhibiting an excellent operating performance. <P>SOLUTION: The hybrid inflator for an inflation type safety system of a vehicle equipped with an air bag has an inflator housing, two gas generating chambers accommodated in the housing and furnished with a gas generating agent, and two ignition means chambers furnished with ignition means connected with the gas generating chambers, wherein the sealed space in the housing excluding the gas generating chambers and ignition means accommodating chambers is filled with liquefied CO<SB>2</SB>, and the ratio by mol number of the liquefied CO<SB>2</SB>to non-azido series gas generating agent ranges 0.2 to 5, and the filling amount of liquefied CO<SB>2</SB>is 0.6-3 mol, while the filling amount of the non-azido series gas generating agent is 0.6-3 mol. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
