<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus ensuring a good appearance. <P>SOLUTION: An automatic document feeder 10 is mounted turnably up and down on an apparatus main body 20 in a state in which it can be slid vertically by a pair of connecting mechanisms 30. A flat cable 41 crossed between the apparatus main body 20 and the automatic document feeder 10 is installed in a part facing the apparatus main body 20 and the automatic document feeder 10.
