PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an autofocusing system which can keep focusing on a moving subject at all times by detecting the moving subject in accordance with a video signal obtained from a camera and automatically setting a focus area in such a manner that the moving subject is focused. SOLUTION: The moving subject is detected by an image processor 30 in accordance with the video signal obtained from the television camera 20 and the focus area is so set as to focus on the detected moving subject.
