PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a liquid crystal display device having a narrow frame, which enables sure electric connection between first and second substrates and has the area of the part other than a display part reduced. SOLUTION: With respect to the liquid crystal display device wherein a first substrate 1 having an electrode 3 including TFT elements, a circuit, etc., formed and a second substrate 2 having an electrode 4 including a color filter, a conductive film, etc., formed have the peripheries fixed to each other by a sealant 6 with a certain gap held between them by spacers and a liquid crystal 7 is injected into a cell formed in this manner from a liquid crystal injection port 8 and is sealed, a conductive sealing material 9 like a conductive polymer is used as a sealing material for the liquid crystal injection port 8. The first and second substrates are electrically connected by the sealing part, and the area other than the display part can be reduced because it is unnecessary to especially provide an electrode for connecting the first and second substrates.
