PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a casing driver which can reduce the accuracy and amount of working of a sliding surface of an ascending/descending frame by comparison with a conventional casing driver, can reduce a manufacturing cost, and can impart less play to sliding of a vertically moving frame. SOLUTION: This casing driver is equipped with: a wedge 16 which is to be inserted between an inclined surface 5a of an inner periphery of a rotor 5, through which the casing 6 is passed, and the casing 6; and a vertically moving device 18 for the wedge 16. The wedge 16 is made to descend by the device 18, so as to be press-fitted between the rotor 5 and the casing 6, and the casing 6 is fixed to the rotor 5. A cylindrical body 3a, which is provided in the ascending/descending frame 3, is slidably fitted into a guide post 2. A second cylindrical body 11a, which is provided in the vertically moving frame 11, is slidably fitted into a part above a part in which the cylindrical body 3a is fitted into the guide post 2.
