A pilot device (1) for controlling/monitoring electrical circuits and/or apparatuses supplied via the circuits, comprising a tubular holder member (20) having a connector end (22) and an operator end (21). An operator element (10) is inserted in the operator end, the operator element being in operative contact with a contact block (30) inserted in the connector end such that the central axes of the operator element and the contact block being coincident with a central axis (CL) of the holder member. The contact block has stationary (33,34) and moving (35) contact elements for opening/closing at least one electrical circuit running through the pilot device, the contacts being actuated through either one of an axial or rotating manipulation of said operator element. <IMAGE>
