A frame (1) guides a channel (2) for picking up a carrier ribbon (3). Above the channel there is a first welding device (4a) with a second welding device (4b) with an analog structure below it. Each welding device has a cassette (5a,5b) with a mechanism for producing and transporting a contact section and for moving welding electrodes (16a,16b). Motors (7a,7b) drive each welding device. An Independent claim is also included for a device for welding electric contacts onto a carrier ribbon with a forward feed device for a carrier ribbon and a welding device for welding on contact sections.
