PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pharmaceutical composition extremely useful for the treatment of diseases such as malignant tumor and cancer, effective at a low concentration and having a low side action and toxicity based on the findings of a phenomenon that a naturally existing inositol phosphate suppresses the proliferation of cells and promotes the apoptosis (death of cell) and, above all, the clarification of the molecular mechanism to suppress the cell life prolonging mechanism and cause the apoptosis. SOLUTION: The pharmaceutical composition having an action to suppress the proliferation of cancer cell, an action to suppress the life-prolonging mechanism of cancer cells and an apoptosis-inducing activity contains an inositol phosphate as an active component.
