PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a yarn takeup method to produce a yarn package capable of performing an end processing smoothly and provide such a yarn package. SOLUTION: The yarn takeup method is to take up a yarn continuously through such procedures as taking up the yarn on a bobbin in the takeup position while it is subjected to a fluid confounding process, moving each bobbin with full winding to the standby position, and moving an empty bobbin in standby position to the takeup position followed by switching of the yarn, and at this time of switching the yarn, the supply amount or pressure of the fluid used in the fluid confounding process is made greater than in the normal takeup operation. A bunch wind part is formed on the surface of the yarn layer where the confounded yarn is taken up on the bobbin or at least one of the bobbin ends, and the number of confoundings per unit length of yarn in the bunch wind part is made greater than the number of confoundings per unit length of yarn in the yarn layer.
