The piston (3) divides the inner space of the fluid-filled damper pipe (1) into an upper and a lower chamber (13, 14) and is provided with radial positioned ducts (16), closed with spring supported lids (8, 9, 10, 11). A bypass duct is positioned in the center of the piston rod (2) and connected to the upper chamber (13) by radial openings (16), closed when a control element (18) axially positioned inside the bypass duct, is moved downward. An opening (15) at the lower end of the piston rod (2) is closed when the rod is moved upwards.
