<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a navigation system to immediately acquire specific data, such as the destination, traveling route, etc., of its own vehicle when the ignition of the vehicle is turned on. <P>SOLUTION: A user of the navigation system preregisters the destination set by means of a PDA at an information center before departure. When the user gets on the vehicle and turns on the ignition of the vehicle, the navigation system confirms whether or not the destination is registered at the information center. When the destination of the vehicle having the corresponding ID is set, the information center searches the route from the present location of the vehicle transmitted from the navigation system to the set destination of the vehicle and transmits a recommended route to the navigation system. Since the traveling route to the designation preset by means of the PDA, etc., can be acquired from the information immediately after the ignition is turned on, the user is not required to perform a series of operations from the turning on of the navigation system to the setting and transmission of the destination in the vehicle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
