<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new reaction which is readily carried out without causing danger of ignition of a catalyst, etc., by using palladium black as the catalyst supported on an electroconductive substance obtained by an electrochemical means. <P>SOLUTION: Palladium black supported on the electroconductive substance obtained by electrolysis of a solution containing palladium ion by using an anode and a cathode composed of the electroconductive substance is used as the catalyst. Consequently, a carbon - carbon trisubstituted double bond and a carbon - carbon tetrasubstituted double bond are not reduced (hydrogenated) and only a carbon - carbon monosubstituted double bond, a carbon - carbon disubstituted double bond and/or a carbon - carbon triple bond is selectivity hydrogenated without causing danger of ignition. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
