<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous ceramic body using, as a binder, glass having such an excellent acid resistance and alkali resistance as to make the glass usable as a filter, etc., for a long period. <P>SOLUTION: The porous ceramic body is formed by bonding ceramic particles by using, as the binder, the glass composed of 5 to 20 mol% a plurality of metal oxides which are selected from the group consisting of Li<SB>2</SB>O, Na<SB>2</SB>O, K<SB>2</SB>O, MgO, CaO, SrO, and BaO, and contain alkaline metal oxides of ≥2 kinds among any of at least Li<SB>2</SB>O, Na<SB>2</SB>O and K<SB>2</SB>O, by ≥3 mol% as a total amount, at least either one or both of ZrO<SB>2</SB>and TiO<SB>2</SB>and the balance SiO<SB>2</SB>and inevitable impurities. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
