CHEMICAL DECONTAMINATION METHOD FOR GATE VALVE AND APPARATUS THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chemical decontamination method for gate valves and an apparatus thereof capable of ensuring the safety of the operators by shorten ing the preparation work such as installing of a decontamination solution circu lating tool and lowering an amount of exposure. SOLUTION: The chemical decontamination method chemically decontaminates a contaminated part due to a radioactive substance of the gate valve 1 by forming a decontamination solution circulation loop for circulating the decontamination solution through the gate valve 1 and a decontamination solution processing device. Both valve seats 6 of the gate valve 1 are blocked respectively by shutting plates 11, a decontamination solution is filled in the center part 5 of the valve casing to circulate the decontamination liquid through the decontamination solution circulation loop.
