PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air leakage test method and an air leakage test device capable of executing under the atmospheric pressure without putting the whole test object product into a vacuum container, and realizing the quantification and high accuracy of the leakage amount. SOLUTION: This air leakage test method contains an initialization stage generating the stationary flow of independent gas inside a cover 11 formed so as to surround a test portion of the test object 10 and inside a detector; a pre-test stage pressure-sealing tracer gas into the test object product, and mounting the cover on a test portion; an instrumentation stage introducing gas containing leakage tracer gas sucked from the cover into the detector and measuring leakage; and a clarification stage cleaning up a passage forming a passage line of gas after measurement and instruments.
