PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a felt facilitating the insertion of a selvage to a seam part by preventing the distance between yarns of the upper yarn layer and the lower yarn layer forming the loop at the seam part from being narrowed, and preventing a needle-punched web from being dropped by fixing the web to the seam part well. SOLUTION: The open end felt with the seam is obtained by inserting a CMD yarn for filling the loop space, not entangling with the MD yarns of the upper yarn layer and the lower yarn layer, into the loops comprising the MD yarns of the upper yarn layer and the lower yarn layer forming seam parts of a face-side cloth and a back-side cloth respectively in the double woven or multiply woven felt with the seam when or after weaving. One or more CMD yarns for filling the loop spaces are inserted into one or both of the loop rows of the seam parts of the face- and back-side cloths. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
