PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new amine compound suitable as a positive hole injecting transporting material, or the like, of an organic electroluminescent material. SOLUTION: This amine compound is represented by formula (1) [wherein, Ar<SB>1</SB>to Ar<SB>4</SB>denote each independently a substituted or an unsubstituted aryl group; and Ar<SB>1</SB>and Ar<SB>2</SB>, and Ar<SB>3</SB>and Ar<SB>4</SB>, together with nitrogen atom to which both of them are bound, may form a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic ring (with the proviso that at least one of Ar<SB>1</SB>to Ar<SB>4</SB>denotes a substituted or an substituted phenanthryl group)].
