The transmitter resource allocation technique has an assembly of transport combination formats allocated to the transmitter at the start of connection of the receiver. Each assembly of transport formats is a sub assembly of possible transport formats associated with the receiver channel authorizing an assembly of transport formats applicable to the transport conditions on the transmission link.
