PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To regulate and control a conveying quantity of an intermediate transfer body in a buffer mechanism part to facilitate handling therefor. SOLUTION: This printer is provided with a primary transfer recording means 15 having a thermal head 12, and having an intermediate transfer roller 14 for transferring fused ink by pressure contact of the thermal head 12 to the intermediate transfer body 18 to form a primary transfer record, and a retransfer means 60 to which the intermediate transfer body 18 is conveyed to transfer the primary transfer record secondarily to a transferred body 70, the buffer mechanism part 24 comprising a primary transfer side buffer part 27 and a secondary transfer side buffer part 29 for controlling the conveying quantity of the intermediate transfer body 18 is provided between the primary transfer recording means 15 and the primary transfer recording means 15, and a conveyance control part 27 for controlling the conveyance of the intermediate transfer body 18 conveyed to the transferred body 70 is provided between the primary transfer side buffer part 27 and the secondary transfer side buffer part 29 to control increase and decrease of the conveying quantity independently in the primary transfer side buffer part 27 and the secondary transfer side buffer part 29.
