[Classes 29 and 64 (i).] Apparatus for cooling or heating and dispensing different liquids independently of one another comprises interfitting vessels having tiers of independent spiral grooves for the liquids in the space between them and cooling or heating means in the inner vessel. The apparatus may consist of inner and outer rectangularly-shaped boxes 1,2, the inner of which is formed with tiers of spiral grooves each connected at their upper and lower ends to supply and draw-off tubes 7, 8 arranged at opposite sides of the apparatus. Liquidtight joints are maintained between the tiers of grooves by rims 14 on the inner box engaging rubber rings 13 in grooves in the outer box when the boxes are secured together by vertical bolts 3. The apparatus may be cooled by ice placed in the inner box or heated by gas or electric heaters placed therein. In a modification, the cylindrical vessels 1, 2, Fig. 4, are releasably connected by a screwed spindle 18 secured to the inner vessel and a screwed sleeve 20 secured to the outer vessel and actuated through a handwheel 21.
