PURPOSE: A clamping/unclamping device for coolant passing through a main shaft in a vertical machining center is provided to improve productivity and precision by discharging air or cutting oil through a tool. CONSTITUTION: A housing(12) is coupled with the upper part of a head frame(10) formed with a tool inserted unit(9), and has a draw bar(14) and a coupling(16) within. A cylinder(26) is vertically installed at the upper part of the housing. A couple of pistons(20,21) are installed at the upper and lower part of the cylinder. A rod(32) is coupled with the pistons, and has a discharge hole(31) therein. A bumper(30) is fixed to the lower end of the rod. A check valve(40) is connected to the upper end of the rod through a rotary joint(38) so that air or cutting oil is discharged through the discharge hole.
