PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the burden of a user when setting operating conditions or parameters in an ultrasonic diagnostic device. SOLUTION: When a specific menu item is selected, a plurality of partial images 12-18 corresponding to a plurality of item elements to become the elements of that item are formed and a compound image 10 is formed by connecting these images. By selecting any one of the partial images 12-18, the user can select the item element, namely, the parameter. The compound image 10 is formed by an electronic linear scan or by an electronic sector scan. Borderlines 40 are displayed between the respective partial images 12-18. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
