<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating waste water containing phosphorus and nitrogen, of which the pH is relatively simply controlled, of which the operability is excellent, which further has excellent performance of phosphorus removal and simultaneously with which decoloration treatment of the waste water is attained and a device therefor. <P>SOLUTION: The method for treating the waste water containing phosphorus and nitrogen comprises adding a magnesium compound to the waste water, subjecting the resultant water to be treated to electrolysis, forming magnesium ammonium phosphate crystals by the electrolytic reaction while keeping the vicinity of the cathode alkaline with pH 8-10 and setting and removing magnesium ammonium phosphate as a solid matter. Removal of phosphorus in a cathode vessel and decoloration treatment of the colored waste water in an anode vessel are carried out by subjecting the waste water to the electrolysis done by dividing the waste water into the cathode vessel and the anode vessel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
