PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spatter collection device for a flash butt welding machine which can prevent the spatter from being scattered therearound, remove the spatter deposited on the machine without stopping the machine, enhance the welding efficiency and be made small in size. SOLUTION: The flash butt welding machine 10 is provided with the spatter collection device 20 having a cover covering a contact part of a pair of workpieces to be welded, the spatter collection device 20 is provided with a scraper 31 provided movably along an inside surface of the cove, and the scraper 31 is moved in a state that its side surface is made in contact with the inside surface of the cover. The cover can prevent the spatter produced when the workpieces are welded to each other from being scattered therearound. The cover can be cleaned without stopping the welding work, so that the welding efficiency can be enhanced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
