PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical radiation applying head applying the radiation to the blood itself taken out of a human body in real time with a simple operation, besides reducing exposure of a patient and a device handler to radiation as much as possible with a simple structure, and to be appropriately used for a device for inactivating or reducing bacteria and viruses existing in the blood of a human being to treat various diseases generated by bacteria and viruses existing in the blood. SOLUTION: The medical radiation applying head 1 has a housing chamber 3 for housing a radiation source 2 and a window 4 for passing the radiation from the radiation source 2, and is provided with a pair of radiation source housing bodies 6 and 7 connected to each other through a hinge mechanism 5 free to relatively turn in a direction A, and window covers 8 and 9, 10 and 11 respectively provided in the radiation source housing bodies 6 and 7 free to slide in the axial direction X to open and close the window 4 of each radiation source housing body 6 or 7.
