PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To arrange an imaging apparatus rationally to realize good transfer by performing heating uniformly. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus comprises means A for carrying a recording medium M having a permeation layer 13 for printing recording information to the fixing layer 12 on the surface of a basic material 11, an ink jet print head 33 for printing recording information to the permeation layer 13 of the recording medium M being carried by the carrying mechanism A, and means C for heating the recording medium M printed with the recording information. A heating space F constituting the heating means C comprises heating blocks F1-F8 wherein the central heating blocks F3-F6 are set at a transfer temperature, and heating blocks F1 and F2 located in the upstream are set at a preliminary heating temperature lower than the transfer temperature thus setting a temperature gradient.
