PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide such a handy rice scoop as to readily and sanitarily form a recess for putting in ingredients in boiled rice balls. SOLUTION: This rice scoop comprises a scoop part 1 and a hand grip 2. At the rear end of the hand grip 2 a projection 3 is formed for the formation of a recess to put in ingredients in boiled rice balls. The projection 3 is preferably in the shape of a hanging bell and further preferably shaped so as to hang on the back surface side of the rice scoop. Furthermore, the height of the projection 3 is preferably made nearly half the width of the boiled rice ball. On the surface of the projection 3 a formation of irregularities 3a or treatment through coating with fluororesin are preferable to prevent the adhesion of boiled rice grains thereto.
