PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily exchange a handle grip of a handle assembly of a fishing reel. SOLUTION: The handle assembly is provided with a handle arm 6, a handle grip 7 rotatably attached to an end of the handle arm 6 and a handle shaft 8 to rotatably attach the grip 7 to the handle arm 6. The handle 7 is provided with a cylindrical supporting part 57 attached to the handle shaft 8, a knob 58 non-rotatably fixed to the outer circumference of the supporting part 57, an engaging part 59 placed in the knob 58 at the rear end of the supporting part 57 to engage and disengage the handle shaft 8 and the supporting part 57, and an operation part 60 exposed from the knob 58 and performing the engagement and the release of the engaging part 59 by pushing the operation part inward.
