PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing rod having a rod tail stopper scarcely causing loosening and capable of readily carrying out detaching operation. SOLUTION: The base rod 1 of the fishing rod is formed of a fiber reinforced resin and has a screw groove 12 directly bored in the inner peripheral surface of the rod base side end. An epoxy coating is applied as a first layer to the screw groove 12 and a rubber-based coating is applied as a second layer onto the surface.
