PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an umbrella capable of preventing water droplets from splashing, when the umbrella is closed, and preventing a wet face from being in contact with the clothes. SOLUTION: A shaft 14 provided with a handle 12 and a ferrule 20 on its both ends, has an inside cap 30 fixed to a lower end of the ferrule 20, and a runner 50 slidable along the shaft 14. End parts 74 of spreaders 70 are rotatably connected to the inside cap 30, and end parts 84 of ribs 80 with a canopy 110 are rotatably connected to the runner 50. The other end parts 72 of the spreaders 70 are rotatably connected to an approximately central position of the ribs 80 through rotary connection tools 90. When the end parts 84 are slid to a handle 12 side with the runner 50, the ribs 80 are gradually raised at a tip 108 side by the rotation on a connecting part with the spreaders 70, and the umbrella 10 is closed in a state that its wet face of the canopy 110 is accommodated inside.
