PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply a release film for a hot press made of a repeatedly usable inexpensive polyether aromatic ketone resin, excellent in heat resistance, chemical resistance, releasability, anti-staining properties or the like and reduced in shrinkage at the time of hot pressing. SOLUTION: The release film for the hot press process is obtained by heat- treating the film made of the polyether aromatic ketone resin for one minute or more at a temperature range from the glass transition temperature of the resin to the temperature of the hot press. Preferably, the heat treatment temperature of the resin film is the crystallizing temperature±15°C of the resin film and the heat treatment method is a continuous processing method due to roll-to- roll.
