PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reel seat and a fishing rod capable of surely fixing the leg of a reel compared with conventional reel seat by surely keeping the engagement of a female screw of a nut with a male screw of the seat body, etc. SOLUTION: The reel seat is provided with a shifting nut engaging with a male screw at a position outside of the axial line of a mobile hood to shift the mobile hood in axial direction by screw-feeding, a fixing nut engaging with the male screw at a position outside of the axial line of the shifting nut to prevent the loosening of the shifting nut, and a pressing mechanism to apply a constricting force on the shifting nut or the fixing nut by a pushing force generated between both nuts for preventing the loosening of the shifting nut.
