PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for compression molding a plate material having a high production efficiency capable of obtaining many compression timbers by one time hot press without bringing about unevenness in consolidation of the plate material after the compression molding. SOLUTION: The method for compression molding the plate material comprises placing the plate material to be worked in a thickness gage 30 having a compression molding thickness between hot platens 21 when the plate material W is placed between the platens 21 of the hot press 10 and compression molded, stacking a plurality of stages the plate materials via intermediate plates 35, and molding the plate materials. A partition unit 31 having the compression molding thickness is formed in the gage, and the intermediate plate is preferably made of a duralumin material. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
