<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operating device for a game machine, capable of accomplishing stable operation with the hand even in the case of using an analog joy stick operated by the thumb only. <P>SOLUTION: This operating device 10 for a game machine includes a hand carry type housing 12, and grips 18, 20 and 22 are integrated with the housing to project from the housing on this side. The respective grips are held with each one finger except the thumb of the player (e.g. a middle finger, the third finger and a little finger. The surface of the housing is provided with the analog joy stick 28 disposed in a position to which the thumb is extended when one grip is held. The analog joy stick has a lever freely inclined in an arbitrary direction by the thumb only of the hand holding the grip, and outputs an operating signal according to the angle of inclination and tine inclining direction of the lever. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
